Flute, Viola & Harp

Programmes for this popular combination centre on the superb trio by Debussy. His masterpiece has inspired composers ever since, and there are pieces in many styles by composers such as Richard Rodney Bennett, Mathias and Bax.

Flute, Violin, Viola & Cello

Repertoire includes quartets by Mozart, Rossini, Haydn and Jonathan Lloyd's 'Ballad for the Evening of a Man', which she commissioned with funds from the Arts Council.

Judith has given performances, including BBC broadcasts, with many different artists, including members of the Skampa, Bochmann and Schidlof quartets. See Recordings.

Flute, Cello & Harp

This repertoire is full of "joie de vivre", ranging from the ravishing textures of La Belle Epoque to the full spectrum of present-day music. Composers include Haydn, Spohr and Françaix, and there are transcriptions of many works by composers from Bach to Prokofiev & Debussy, taking a cue from virtuoso harpist Carlos Salzedo: when he made his own arrangement for flute, cello and harp of Ravel's Sonatine, Ravel's reaction on hearing it was "Now why didn't I think of that myself?".

Flute with Orchestra

Judith hall has played and recorded as concerto soloist with the Philharmonia, BBC Concert Orchestra, Langham Chamber Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Montepulciano Festival Orchestra, Divertimento of London, and the English Symphony Orchestra.

Repertoire includes music by Vivaldi and Mozart (including the Flute & Harp Concerto) and by Bach, CPE Bach, Brouwer, Boccherini, Chaminade, Devienne, Foss, Gianella, Grétry, Griffes, Ibert, Jolivet, Nielsen, Panufnik, Quantz, Rivier, Seiber and Stamitz. Reviews of concertos by Vivaldi and Mozart

Jonathan Lloyd's "blessed days of blue" for flute and string orchestra was commissioned for Judith by the English String Orchestra with funds from the Arts Council.
